New virtualized browser security software from Check Point honored with Best of Show in the Software Category at the Digital Life conference in New York City
Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that the new ZoneAlarm ForceField was named Best of Show in the Software Category by PC Magazine editors at the Digital Life 2007 conference in New York City on Friday afternoon.
“We’re very excited to receive this prestigious honor,” said Laura Yecies, general manager of the consumer and small business division at Check Point. “ZoneAlarm ForceField was created so consumers could surf the Web with impunity. It gives them a “bubble” of security based upon cutting edge virtualization technologies to block the newest browser and Web threats such as drive-by spyware, keyloggers and phishing attacks. We’re thrilled the editors at PC Magazine recognize the importance of innovation in Internet security and the achievements made with ZoneAlarm ForceField.”
"Where a firewall protects your computer and operating system, ZoneAlarm ForceField protects your browser and browsing experience," said PC Magazine Editor Neil Rubenking in a recent review. "It blocks bad sites, warns of dangerous downloads, and keeps keyloggers from stealing keystrokes and screens."
ZoneAlarm ForceField, the first virtualized browser security solution to enable people to bank and shop and surf online without fear, was built from the ground-up specifically to fight the emerging classes of browser-based Web threats. It employs a state-of-the-art precision virtualization engine plus additional active security layers including anti-phishing, Spy Site Blocking and dangerous download protection to provide powerful protection against Web-based attacks like browser exploits, drive-by spyware, and phishing attacks, plus keyloggers and spyware already on the PC. ForceField leverages the power of Check Point’s Smart Defense Advisor, a hosted service that enables the company to offer users real-time protection against zero-hour threats.
Continued Yecies, “As hackers have moved away from merely hacking for headlines to more sophisticated, malicious attacks to generate profit, users must protect every possible attack vector. Traditionally, that’s been the operating system. But today, it’s quickly becoming the browser too. That’s why we created ForceField. As hackers innovate, we’ll be there.”
