Famed strategy franchise comes to mobile phone users
Gameloft®, a world leader in the development and publishing of video games for mobile phones, announced today the launch of The Settlers®, a mobile game based on Ubisoft’s legendary PC franchise. This strategic, economic simulation game allows players to build their own bustling, medieval city and manage its development wisely.
The Settlers® has served as an extremely popular brand for Ubisoft and has sold over 6 million units to date. The Settlers®: Rise of an Empire is the sixth opus on PC since 1995 and is set to be released in September 2007. Each new release of The Settlers® is an event for fans of strategy games.
Set on a slab of unexplored land, players of the mobile game must carefully assemble a working economy, complete with the production of natural resources and the development of a craft industry. By managing the population’s morale, you will help to steadily increase its productivity, whereby making your settlers stronger and consequently, unstoppable. Once your economy is established, you then have the opportunity to build tower defenses to fend off enemies and protect your city.

The Settlers® features a comprehensive living atmosphere, including plants, animals, and different climatic zones and seasons. Development of a civilization can also be sped up by successfully completing various mini-games throughout the game.
The Settlers® mobile game will be available at the beginning of October 2007 through the portals of Gameloft's 170 partner operators in 75 countries.
