AZTEQ Mobile and Camelot Announce Financial and Strategic Partnership

Camelot Investing in AZTEQ and Developing Compelling Mobile Content on AZTEQ Platform

AZTEQ Mobile and Camelot Co., Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership that includes a capital investment from Camelot, along with a commitment from Camelot to develop exciting mobile gaming content on AZTEQ’s hardware SDK platform.

AZTEQ, headquartered in the Silicon Valley with large presence in Tokyo, enables rich, high-quality, native content on mobile phones to deliver a compelling casual gaming experience on mobile handsets. AZTEQ has developed a solution that addresses all the key players of the mobile gaming ecosystem – handset manufacturers, content developers and carriers. The company’s breakthrough hardware SDK and tools, the AZTEQ toolzQit, gives video game developers their first opportunity to create content using a hardware SDK that mirrors the familiarity of the console gaming environment, coupled with the functionality and performance game player’s will experience using the final handset.

“Camelot is world renowned for developing the most exciting games in history and we are delighted to have their support and commitment for our unique solution,” commented Shin’ichi Okamoto, member of the Board of Directors at AZTEQ. “As we ready our offering for commercial deployment, we are putting the pieces in place to secure broad consumer adoption of our platform. Rich content and early developer feedback will be a key to our success, and Camelot fills both these critical needs.”

Japan-based Camelot is widely regarded as one of the most creative game development companies in the world, and is best known for its long-term partnership with Nintendo, which resulted in many popular spin-off games from the wildly popular Mario Bros. brand. Camelot recently announced the release of a new title, “WE LOVE GOLF!” for the Nintendo Wii. It is the first sports game for Capcom Co., Ltd.

Hiroyuki Takahashi, Representative President of Camelot, said, “AZTEQ’s mobile service concept, as well as the technology to make the concept happen are very unique, especially in mobile technological space where voice calls and emails are still primary uses. Since we believe that AZTEQ’s unique ideas and technologies are essential to realize our futuristic picture of on-line services, we are pleased to announce our intention to support and assist AZTEQ through both the capital investment and the strategic partnership.”
