Executive Produced by Clint Eastwood for PBS’ American Masters Series, This Two-Disc DVD Set Will Feature the New Music Documentary as well as Tony Bennett’s Concert Performance at the Monterey Jazz Festival
Warner Home Video (WHV) brings the life and music of legendary musical performer Tony Bennett to consumers this fall with the release of Tony Bennett: The Music Never Ends, an inspiring documentary executive produced by Clint Eastwood for PBS’ American Masters series. The documentary will be available to consumers November 13, 2007 in a two-disc set which will retail for $24.98 SRP.
Academy Award®-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood presents viewers with a compelling new documentary that chronicles the extraordinary career of one of music’s best, Tony Bennett, who is considered one of the greatest living singers in American popular music. A story of integrity winning over adversity and of art triumphing over all, this 90-minute film showcases the singer’s illustrious musical career, which spans more than half a century, against the backdrop of a changing America. Tony Bennett: The Music Never Ends features an in-depth on-camera interview of the performer, conducted by Eastwood himself. Rare archival footage and contemporary clips of Bennett performing live throughout his career are interwoven throughout the documentary, as are interviews with celebrities who reminisce about their favorite moments with the singer. Aside from Eastwood, featured celebrities include Harry Belafonte, Alex Baldwin, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Christina Aguilera and many others. Performances include his famous hits, “I left My Heart in San Francisco” and “For Once in My Life.” The DVD set includes a bonus disc featuring Bennett’s full concert performance at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 2005.
