CAP-XX to Present Talk on Improving Mobile-Phone Audio Quality and Power at AES Convention

On October 6, Pierre Mars, Vice President Applications Engineering for Australia-based CAP-XX Ltd. (LSE:CPX) will present a technical paper on design strategies to overcome the power limitations in mobile phones for richer, distortion-free music. Mars will present at the Audio Engineering Society’s (AES) 123rd Convention in New York City, October 5 to 8, 2007.

WHO:

Pierre Mars, VP Applications Engineering for CAP-XX is a published authority on power management architectures using supercapacitors for portable electronics devices. He jointly holds 3 patents on supercapacitor applications and has held many executive and technical management positions in his career.

WHAT:

During poster presentation “Pump Up the Volume: Enhancing Music Phone Audio Quality and Power Using Supercapacitors for Power Management,” Mars will outline the problems delivering high power, high quality audio in small, portable music phones. He will discuss design considerations and describe a power architecture – called BriteSound – in which a supercapacitor offloads the phone’s peak-power demands from the battery, doubling audio power and eliminating the distortion caused by wireless transmissions. Mr. Mars will have a technology demo for attendees to be able to listen to the difference in music quality and volume.

CAP-XX Ltd. is a world leader in thin, flat supercapacitors and power architectures for portable electronic devices. Supercapacitors resolve the power and performance limitations of batteries, bridging the gap between the power demanded and that available from a battery.

CAP-XX supercapacitors enable manufacturers to make smaller, thinner, longer-running portable electronics such as cell phones, PDAs, PMPs and medical devices. The company, which is listed on the Alternative Investment Markets (AIM) in London, is based in Sydney, Australia, has additional production facilities in Malaysia, and sales offices in the UK and USA.
