Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., announces the release of the new ProTour® PT-4, modular LED (light emitting diode) video system. The product features four millimeter line spacing for excellent picture detail, 22-bit image processing for exceptional video quality, a design without the need for fans for ultra-quite operation, and a high-bright, high-efficiency LED layout for superior contrast.
The PT-4 video system strikes a never-before-seen balance between cutting-edge technology and practical economy. “We’ve developed the PT-4 as an economical solution to the high-density modular video display market,” said Jay deBlonk, Daktronics Product Manager. “The result is the first video system that truly provides an immediate advantage in the highly-competitive rental and staging market.”
Daktronics incorporates cast magnesium into the front mask and rear housing resulting in extremely durable panels. Each PT-4 panel houses four PT-4 modules that can be removed and operated individually, or in combination, to provide a creative and unforgettable entertainment experience.
The product also features 3-in-1 “black package” surface mount LED display technology, 2,000 nits of calibrated brightness and a high-contrast mask coating. The outcome is superior display contrast, wide viewing angles and rich color reproduction.
Like all Daktronics modular products, the PT-4 provides a unique bi-directional signal design to optimize system reliability, active monitoring and diagnostics. These features aid in troubleshooting and configuration. The PT-4 uses the V-Tour® controller for easy setup and precise operational control.
“After consulting with our customers their needs became clear: a cost-effective, transportable product that provides high image quality, reliability and durability,” said deBlonk. “The PT-4 product line addresses the needs of our customers with a modular product that’s truly a win-win.”
In addition to the PT-4, the Daktronics ProTour® product line also includes the PT-6, PT-8, PT-10 and PT-13 modular LED video display systems.
The PT-4 LED video display will be shown at the LDI 2007 show, Nov. 16-18 in Orlando, Fla., in Daktronics booth number 451.
